The name of the club shall be Guiseley Netball Club (“the Club”).
The Club exists to:
Promote participation in netball in accordance with England Netball regulations
Provide safe, inclusive, and high-quality netball opportunities
Ensure duty of care to all members
Adopt and implement England Netball policies and codes of conduct
Encourage coaching development and officiating pathways
Maintain appropriate insurance through affiliation
Develop a junior section when resources allow
3.1 Eligibility
Membership is open to adults aged 18 and over who support the aims of the Club, subject to safeguarding and conduct requirements.
3.2 Categories of Membership
The Club shall initially operate as a seniors-only club and may offer:
Senior Player
Coach
Volunteer / Non-Playing Member
Honorary Member
Junior membership categories may be introduced in future by Committee approval.
3.3 Membership Approval
Membership is granted upon completion of registration and payment of any required fees.
3.4 Termination of Membership
The Committee may terminate membership if a member:
Acts in a manner contrary to the Club’s interests
Breaches codes of conduct or safeguarding policies
Fails to pay fees after reasonable notice
The member shall have the right to appeal.
The Club shall:
Affiliate annually to England Netball
Comply with England Netball rules, policies, and disciplinary procedures
Ensure all players, coaches, and officials hold appropriate membership where required
Adopt England Netball Codes of Conduct
Maintain appropriate insurance cover through affiliation
5.1 Officers
The Club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of the following officers:
Chair
Deputy Chair
Secretary
Deputy Secretary
Treasurer
Deputy Treasurer
Head Coach
Safeguarding Officers (2)
GDPR Officer
Social Media Officer
Fundraising Officer
5.2 Duties of Officers
The Committee is responsible for:
Day-to-day management of the Club
Financial oversight and fundraising
Organising training, fixtures, and events
Ensuring safeguarding, welfare, and data protection compliance
Promoting the Club within the community
Implementing Club policies and strategic development
5.3 Terms of Office
Officers shall serve for one year and may be re-elected at the AGM.
5.4 Vacancies
The Committee may appoint members to fill vacancies until the next AGM.
6.1 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM shall be held once per year to:
Receive reports from officers
Approve financial accounts
Elect officers and committee
Agree membership fees
Consider constitutional amendments
Members must receive at least 14 days’ notice.
6.2 Committee Meetings
The Committee shall meet approximately every six (6) weeks to manage Club business.
A quorum shall be at least 50% of Committee members.
6.3 Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)
An EGM may be called by the Committee or by written request of at least 25% of members.
6.4 Voting
Each member present has one vote. Decisions are made by simple majority unless otherwise stated. The Chair shall have a casting vote in the event of a tie.
The Club shall maintain a bank account in its name
The Treasurer shall keep accurate financial records
All funds shall be used solely to further the Club’s objectives
Payments shall be authorised by two approved signatories
Accounts shall be presented annually at the AGM
The Club shall:
Adopt England Netball Safeguarding Policy and Procedures
Appoint trained Safeguarding Officers
Ensure safeguarding training is maintained
Implement safer recruitment practices when applicable
All members agree to:
Abide by England Netball Codes of Conduct
Treat others with respect and fairness
Uphold the reputation of the Club
Accept disciplinary action where standards are breached
The Club shall comply with UK data protection legislation. Member data shall be collected, stored, and used solely for legitimate Club purposes.The Club shall comply with UK GDPR and follow best practice guidance issued by England Netball regarding member data.
The Club is committed to equality of opportunity and will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or bullying. The Club shall adopt England Netball Equality and Diversity Policy and provide an inclusive environment for all participants.
The Committee may take disciplinary action against members who breach Club rules or policies. Members shall have the right to a fair hearing and appeal.
This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote at an AGM or EGM.
If the Club dissolves:
All debts shall be settled
Remaining assets shall be transferred to a non-profit sports organisation with similar aims
Members shall not receive financial gain
